British Embassy Astana

The decision of the Kazakh government to relocate the capital from Almaty to Astana, nearly one thousand kilometres to the north, has also necessitated major changes for the diplomatic corps in this sparsely populated Central Asian country. When the British Embassy transferred most of its activities to Astana in late 2006, an entire storey of an existing office block was refurbished specially for the purpose. Meuser Architekten BDA was on site throughout to plan and coordinate the project.
