Residence in Nürnberg

Adding a storey to a typical 1960s bungalow raises tricky issues in terms of statics and energy efficiency, especially when it is subject to a building group preservation order. The new upper floor is mounted on pillars to separate it from the single-floor bungalow. In terms of energy efficiency the house had to be upgraded to twenty-first-century standards. The interiors on the new floor were given a decidedly avant-garde look.
