Castle Stolzenfels2005-2013 | In autumn 2005 Meuser Architekten BDA was invited to participate in a design competition for the restoration of Stolzenfels Castle. The castle had been renovated in the mid-nineteenth century on the basis of designs made by Karl Friedrich Schinkel for the Prussian king, Frederick William IV. Our winning entry to the competition successfully reconciles Schinkel’s superb architecture and the regulations for listed buildings with the requirements of a modern museum. A lift will ensure disabled access to all levels. |
